Welcome to our new CR blog! We've just celebrated our 3rd year and I am excited to have this venue to continue the support and unity of our group, not only for our current members, but for those who may find themselves in need of help with hurts, hang-ups and habits that our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, can change!

II Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step Christ-centered program that helps this process in growing our relationship to Christ as He changes our lives. Whether your issue is with addiction, co-dependency, pornography, sexual abuse, grief, loneliness, Christ can bring the change, if you let Him. We work the 12 steps along with 8 Biblical Principles which allows us to turn our lives over to Him, to become manageable where there was chaos.

So, each week we will bring an application to the steps we study in our large group and allow a chance for you to share how God is working in your lives and/or share with each other for support. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity between meetings to be in contact whenever you need to.

  2. Having difficulty letting go of my will... keep holding onto those things that arn't really doing me any good... and have no reason why... I keep praying to let things go; I guess I am wishing for a reaction like some birds and the wind to come and take it like an old movie..... sounds corny but since it's not happening I guess i am wanting it to happen magically...any help or prayers are most needed.

  3. Master Chick - Surrender is one of the hardest things and where faith comes in. It is like the faith of a child - unquestioning. Jesus promises to help us if we trust Him enough to turn everyting over Him. It is like knowing a chair will hold us, but until we sit in it, we won't know for sure. Jesus is asking to "sit in Him" or "lean on Him". Matthew 11:28 He wants to take our burdens. We know we have certainly screwed up things ourselves, we have nothing to lose to trust in Him, but so much to gain! I will pray for you and encourage you to go through a step-study with your sponsor or class. The Step Study will help understanding more of how and why. God bless!
